When you signed up for the Blood Sugar Wellness Bundle you got two guides — the 7-day meal structure and the 7-day movement framework.

There was meant to be a third thing. A printable blood sugar log: four pages you fill in by hand and take to your next appointment. I have been describing it as part of the bundle since August. It was never sent to anybody.

I found that out a week ago while checking something unrelated. It is below.

Four pages:

  • A daily blood sugar log, with space for before and one hour after each meal

  • A weekly meal planner

  • A movement and strength log

  • A weekly review — ten minutes on a Sunday, and the page the other three pay off on

Two things are printed on the first page, and they are the two I would most want to know if I were starting again.

Wash your hands before you test. Fruit residue on a fingertip can produce a dramatically false high — high enough to make you give up a food that was never the problem.

Test one hour after eating, not two. Two hours tells you whether you came back down. One hour is nearer the peak, and the peak is the information.

Paper, not another app to forget about. Print as many copies as you need.

If you want to see what sixteen days of this actually looked like, I wrote up how to read your own data here: How to read your CGM. Free, no signup.

One caution, once: if you take insulin or a sulfonylurea, talk to your doctor before you change what you eat or how you exercise. Those changes can cause low blood sugar.

Sorry it took this long.
